Attraction is subconscious influence and it is a hugely powerful tool to master. Many of the decisions that you make are made by your subconscious even if you then ratify them consciously to yourself or others. Some scientists estimate around 85% of all your decisions are made largely subconsciously although it varies from person to person.

Managing how you interact with indiviuals is a key part of establishing yourself and your business. If you don't know it, remind yourself of Aesop's The North Wind and The Sun which you can find briefly here.

In order to make people want to be with you - whether on a personal front, as a customer or as an employee - there are many things we can practice.

Here's a brief guide to getting people to want to work and be with you. These skills are extremely powerful at any level.

1, Work out who you are and what you want
Some people refer to this as 'personal branding'. Specifically work out what you want to be known for. There's no right or wrong, it just needs to come from your heart. Write down what you want to achieve in your whole life, not just what you might perceive as 'work'.

2, Be true to yourself and to others
Now you are comfortable with what you want, you can be that person. Many aspiring entrepreneurs feel they need to be something that they are not as though they're not quite the real deal. You are! As long as you know who you are and what you want to be you can start achieving it. You will feel true to your own principles. Offer that to others too. Without trust you really do have nothing.

3, Question but don't judge
Asking questions of people displays interest and will help you to learn about what drives that person. This can become extremely effective by using some additional NLP skills such as language and body language acuity. It is very important however to not judge the responses. We're conditioned to do it but should avoid the temptation to see the information we are getting back as good or bad, right or wrong.

4, Do things
People actually like to be led. If you can carve out a path, others will follow. If you can show them that you have had successes you are more likely to get people to follow.

5, Empower
If people are in rapport with you or following you, give them some authority. Many very good business people are scared of doing this. They fear that by handing over some control they are losing control themselves or that people will leave them. This could not be further from the truth. You cannot get a child to ride a bike by keeping the stabilisers on. When you take them off, the child needs support and may wobble and fall, but will ultimately be successful.

6, Support
Whether emotional or technical, support wins trust and as we've already said, without that you have nothing. Support very often necessitates developing a deep understanding. An employee who is looking upset this week probably needs more attention and careful questioning than just being offered a 'Chin up!'.
